How to Prepare for a Makeup Appointment at Home

Arrange the workspace, access and timing for a mobile makeup appointment in Medellín, whether you are getting ready at home, a hotel or the office.

A mobile makeup appointment lets you get ready where you will dress or begin your day. A few details are worth settling before the artist arrives: how to enter the building, where to set up and when you need to be ready to leave.

You do not need to turn the room into a studio. A conversation about the available space and a short checklist help you avoid rearranging everything at the door. These steps work for a home, hotel or office; confirm the particular requirements with the professional providing the service.

1. Share the full address and access instructions

Send the street address, neighborhood and building or hotel name. Add the tower, apartment or room number where relevant, along with a contact number. If the map pin directs visitors to a different entrance, explain the correct route with a short instruction that is easy to follow.

Check with reception or security about visitor registration. Mention stairs, entry restrictions and unloading arrangements where they matter. For a booking outside Medellín, confirm coverage, travel and any associated charge in the quote. These details are easier to settle beforehand than when someone arrives carrying equipment.

2. Agree on a suitable working area

Ask what the artist will bring and what you should provide. A clear table and stable chair can be a starting point, but check the height, lighting and access to a power outlet if electrical equipment is needed. A photograph of the available space can help you decide together.

Keep that area available throughout the appointment. Move food, open drinks and luggage away from the working surface. If hairstyling is happening too, discuss how to divide the space and equipment so one professional does not have to keep moving whenever the other needs to work.

3. Plan around departure time and photographs

Explain when you must leave and whether photographs will happen first. The makeup needs to finish with time left for dressing, accessories and a final check. Ask how long to allow for your chosen look, then agree on arrival, application and ready-by times rather than using one time for everything.

If several people have appointments, send their names and requested services so the artist can arrange the order. Include anyone who must leave first or attend another activity. One contact person can manage the door and group questions while you are sitting in the makeup chair.

4. Keep your references easy to find

Save your selected photographs in a folder and explain what you like about each. Have a picture of the outfit and accessories available too. If you have already had a trial, keep the approved photo and adjustment notes handy, rather than trying to remember every decision on the day.

Ask how you should arrive for the application and what to do with your usual preparation routine. Mention any products you already know you cannot tolerate before the appointment. If you want to use a cosmetic of your own, ask ahead of time whether it can be incorporated into the service.

5. Review the booking the day before

Gather the agreed details in one message. It is easier to check a short list than to search through photographs, voice notes and a busy group conversation when the appointment is about to begin.

  • Date, complete address, access instructions and a contact number.
  • Arrival time and the time each person needs to be ready.
  • The confirmed number of people and their services.
  • Workspace arrangements and equipment each professional will bring.
  • Agreed total, outstanding payments and booking conditions.
  • Any touch-ups, kit or attendance included in the accepted proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a dressing table or a professional makeup chair?

Ask what equipment the artist will bring and send a photograph of your space if you are unsure. Do not buy furniture before discussing it; the aim is to agree on an appropriate surface and seat.

Can I arrange makeup in a hotel room?

You can ask about that location when booking. Confirm the hotel's visitor arrangements and share your room number once assigned, along with the schedule and available workspace.

Does a mobile appointment include hair and event touch-ups?

Do not assume it does. Mobile describes where the appointment happens. Hairstyling, a kit and attendance during the event should be listed in the agreed service proposal.
