Makeup for LinkedIn Photos and Corporate Headshots

You are updating your LinkedIn photo, and suddenly your usual work makeup feels like a decision. Should you keep it exactly as it is or do something more for the camera? Start with the way you normally present yourself and decide which details you would like to adjust for the portrait.

When arranging makeup for corporate headshots in Medellín, talk about the photographs before choosing products. An image for a company directory, a personal website and a brand campaign can call for different looks, even though all three are professional portraits.

Start with where the portrait will appear

Share any references your company has provided with both the artist and the photographer. Check the background, framing and planned outfit. Explain whether you need one image or a series for several uses, such as LinkedIn, a team page and a speaker introduction.

For a personal brand shoot, bring a photograph in which you feel like yourself. It might show the lipstick you usually wear or the way you like your brows. Those familiar details can help the finished portrait feel connected to the person someone will meet in real life.

Say which details you want to keep

Asking for a natural finish is a useful start, but it leaves room for interpretation. Mention whether you want your freckles visible, usually wear eyeliner or rarely use foundation. You can ask for coverage in selected areas and more eye definition without changing every part of your usual makeup.

There is no compulsory lipstick shade for looking professional. If red lips are part of your image, discuss how to include them. If you dislike the feeling of makeup, explain that too. The person sitting for the photograph should be comfortable with the plan, as well as the people making the image.

Check the makeup with your outfit and glasses

Bring the shirt, jacket or top that will appear in the frame, or a photograph that shows its color clearly. Put on your glasses if you will wear them for the portrait. Look at the whole combination from the front and side before deciding whether your eyes or lips need an adjustment.

If possible, ask for an initial photograph under the lighting planned for the session. Review it with the photographer and makeup artist before starting the full set. A specific camera check gives everyone something useful to discuss; a selfie in a different room cannot show exactly how that portrait will look.

Connect the appointment to the photography schedule

Confirm when you need to be in front of the camera and whether makeup will happen at home, at the office or in the studio. Allow for travel, changing clothes and the photographer's setup as well as the application itself. Agree on a finish time that leaves room for those steps.

For a team shoot, assign named appointments and choose one scheduling contact. Clarify whether the booking includes touch-ups during photography or an initial application only.
